Taggon is the most intuitive content management system available due to invisible technology that does not require that processes and workflows be adapted to the application, and at the same time ensures that your web presence is more up-to-date than ever.
In the 2004 Web rating of "Finance and Economy", a leading European financial newspaper, Rieter's website (www.rieter.com) received first place honors. They also received a first place honor from the Society of Investor Relation Agencies.
Rieter is based in Winterthur, Switzerland and has been a customer of onison for many years. The Rieter Group generates sales of some three billion Swiss francs with approximately 13,000 employees at 60 locations worldwide, and plays a leading role both in textile machinery manufacturing and as a supplier to the international automotive industry.
The criteria used to judge the websites included general financial information, investor relations, media information, interactivity, as well as language and site structure. A great deal of attention was also paid to the visual layout and content presentation in terms of how it appealed to their particular target audience, comprised of financial institutions. Along with factors such as the design of the site, the navigation and the extensive financial and economic information available, the ease with which users could find the required information was a major factor in Rieter's site being honored. onison built the layout and navigation of the site using the Taggon Content Management System. Other systems were not able to manage and organize the requisite 15,000 pages of content in six different languages, for three separate corporate divisions. Taggon has integrated features that replace complex navigation and development tools, allowing users to manipulate the menu directly onto the page of the live site. The built in "staging" environment allows content to be edited internally and then published live within the same interface. Edda Walraf, Head of Marketing for the Textile Division of Rieter Management AG had this to say about onison's partnership:
"Rieter's strategy is to increasingly make our information available on the Internet, thus providing our clients with more knowledge. This ensures that current information is always at the client's disposal, and it also cuts printing costs. These savings are then invested into providing content in additional languages, in order to serve our customers better. The challenge in building the system was to include users early in the developing phase. In this initial phase our test users were also the future content providers and marketers. The goal was to achieve acceptance of the system in order to guarantee the success of the upgrade. The second large challenge was in organising the vast amounts of information in such a way that readers would be able to easily find what they were looking for and reach the required pages without having to click too many times. A successful Internet site requires the integration of structure, contents and navigation in such a way that these requirements are met. A clear design supports this. onison's knowledge and problem solving abilities were key elements in achieving our goals for the system. Being able to use their system to visualise the navigation early on in the project helped with communications and presentations to our major stakeholders. Their know-how simplified navigation and helped us fulfill the expectations of our users and readers.
The design was convincing due to its clarity and simplicity. It ideally reflects the value proposition of a B2B supplier for efficiency and quality. onison's influence can clearly be seen throughout our site." onison.com is fully based on Taggon and is just one example of its versatility. Taggon is also frequently deployed for intranet and extranet applications.
